The Inspiring Journey of Priya Singh - From a Village Girl to a Proud Police Officer

Share the Stories

For countless girls growing up in rural India, opportunities for quality education and personal development can often be limited by financial and social circumstances.

To address this need, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education (JKPE) was set up by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj to provide 100% free education to impoverished girls.  The institution educates girls from Kindergarten to College - Kripalu Balika Primary School, Kripalu Balika Intermediate College and Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalaya.   The institution gives hope to thousands of underprivileged girls in rural India for a bigger and brighter future.  The girls receive the best quality education at all levels from qualified and passionate teachers.

Other than providing 100% free education, the girls studying at JKP schools are given free school uniforms, stationeries, school bags, water bottles, lunch boxes, winter jackets, blankets and even bicycles from time to time.

Over the years, the institution has transformed the lives of thousands of students and brought hope to countless families who otherwise may not have had access to quality education.

Priya Singh's journey is one such inspiring success story. Today, she serves proudly as a police officer, protecting and serving society with dedication and dignity. Her story demonstrates how education, discipline, encouragement, and opportunity can empower young women to overcome barriers and achieve their dreams.

A New Beginning

Priya joined Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat's school in Class 7 after studying in a regular local school. Entering the institution was a life-changing experience.

"Everything was new to me - the discipline, rules, punctuality, and an organized way of learning," she recalls.

The school challenged students to strive for excellence. Priya remembers seeing photographs of top-performing students displayed prominently on the school premises. Inspired by their achievements, she set a goal for herself.

"I used to look at those posters and think, one day my photograph should be there too."

Her determination paid off. In Class 10, she secured a position among the top students, and her own photograph was displayed alongside the achievers she had once admired.

Building Confidence and Character

For Priya, education at the school extended far beyond textbooks.

Regular examinations, weekly tests, seminars, competitions, and extracurricular activities encouraged students to develop confidence, communication skills, and leadership qualities.

Coming from a rural background where many girls were hesitant to speak publicly, Priya found these opportunities transformative.

"Through seminars and presentations, we learned how to express ourselves confidently in front of others. The hesitation gradually disappeared."

She also recalls the inclusive environment where students from different communities studied together without discrimination, fostering mutual respect and understanding.

Expanding Horizons

Growing up in a village, Priya had limited exposure to the wider world. The school's emphasis on awareness and current affairs broadened her perspective.

Newspapers were regularly made available to students, and important headlines were discussed collectively. This helped students stay informed about developments beyond their immediate surroundings and encouraged them to think more broadly about their future possibilities.

"We realized that the world was much bigger than the small area where we had grown up."

Empowering Girls Through Self-Defence

One of Priya's most memorable experiences was participating in the Self-Defence Training Programme organized by Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat. Inspired by the vision of JKP President, HH Sushree Vishaka Tripathi, the programme equips young women with the skills and confidence to protect themselves and navigate the world with greater assurance.

As a student of Class 11, she received practical training that taught girls how to protect themselves and respond confidently in challenging situations.

The programme strengthened not only physical preparedness but also self-belief, reinforcing the message that young women are capable, resilient, and empowered.

Dreaming Beyond Limitations

In the villages surrounding her hometown, government jobs for women were rare. Priya had never personally known a woman serving in the police force.

However, seeing women officers in uniform left a lasting impression on her.

"The uniform represented strength and empowerment. I thought, perhaps I can do something like that too."

Instead of allowing uncertainty to hold her back, she decided to try.

"I told myself that whether I succeed or not, I should at least make the effort."

With determination and hard work, she achieved her goal and eventually joined the police service.

Pride in Her Roots

Even today, Priya proudly speaks about her educational journey whenever people ask where she studied.

"When I tell them that I studied in Kripalu Maharaji's school, people immediately recognize it and become interested in knowing more."

She often shares how students received not only quality education but also uniforms, stationery, and other educational support free of cost.

Many people are surprised to learn about the extent of the services provided, including educational and healthcare initiatives.

Transforming Lives and Communities

Priya believes that the development of the Kunda-Mangarh region is closely linked to the educational, charitable, and social initiatives inspired by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj and guided by the leadership of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat.

Her own journey stands as living proof of what can happen when girls are given access to education, encouragement, and opportunities to grow.

From a young village girl with limited exposure to a confident police officer serving society, Priya's story demonstrates how education can become a catalyst for transformation.

A Legacy of Empowerment

Priya Singh's success is not merely a personal achievement. It represents the broader impact of providing quality education and holistic development opportunities to underprivileged children, especially girls.

Through its commitment to free education, character building, self-development, and empowerment, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat has helped countless young girls dream beyond traditional limitations and pursue meaningful careers.

Today, as Priya stands proudly in uniform, she serves as an inspiration to future generations, proving that with determination, guidance, and opportunity, even the most challenging paths can be walked with confidence and dignity.

Her message is simple yet powerful:

"If women are given responsibility and an opportunity to move forward, they can achieve great things."

And Priya Singh is living proof of that truth.
