Our Founder
Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

From a tender age, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj embodied a heart overflowing with compassion and a deep desire to uplift others. He constantly emphasized the importance of giving, of bringing comfort, happiness, and hope into the lives of those around him.

Born on 5th October, 1922, in the serene village of Mangarh near Kunda, Pratapgarh, even as a young boy, his divine nature radiated through his actions.

Gathering his friends and classmates, he would lead them in joyous sankirtan (chanting the holy names of God) filling the air with devotion and the hearts of listeners with bliss. These early sankirtan sessions not only brought happiness to those around him but also sowed the seeds of the immense spiritual mission he would one day carry forth to the world.

As Shri Maharajji grew older, he journeyed tirelessly from village to village, town to town, and city to city, spreading the eternal wisdom of the divine scriptures. Drawing primarily from the Vedic texts, he also lovingly incorporated teachings from the Bible, the Koran, and other sacred traditions of the world.
His message was one of profound unity, that at the heart of all religions and philosophies lies the same eternal truth: God is One, and we all belong to Him. True and lasting happiness, he taught, can only be found when we turn towards God and unite with Him in love and devotion. This universal message of divine oneness was the light he shared with every soul.

Becoming Jagadguru

In India, the sacred tradition of Jagadguru, the Spiritual Master of the entire world, has existed since time immemorial.

Recognizing that it is often difficult for ordinary souls to discern the true identity of a divine Guru, great scholars established the seat of Jagadguru, so that whoever was divinely qualified to ascend this seat would be universally accepted as an unquestionable authority on the eternal truths of the scriptures.

In 1955, after extensive deliberation and unanimous agreement, a distinguished assembly of 500 eminent scholars recognized Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj as the Jagadguru.

In doing so, they acknowledged him as only the 5th Jagadguru to be bestowed this title in the past 2,500 years, a rare and divine event in the spiritual history of the world.

This happened on 14th January, 1955.

Since 1955, Shri Maharajji has delivered thousands upon thousands of profound discourses, composed over a hundred thousand divine verses, and authored numerous books that have touched and transformed the lives of   millions   across the world.

Under His divine guidance, three magnificent spiritual centres have been established in India, Bhakti Mandir, Prem Mandir, and Kirti Mandir, each home to some of the largest and most breathtaking temples in the world.

Their tireless devotion allows millions of devotees to experience spiritual bliss, guidance, and the boundless grace of God.

Philanthropic Vision

In 1972, Shri Maharajji established Sadhana Bhawan Trust, which in 2002 was renamed
Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat.

With a heart overflowing with compassion for all souls, Shri Maharajji envisioned a Trust dedicated entirely to selfless service.

Whether imparting the eternal wisdom of spiritual knowledge, providing quality education, offering free medical care, or addressing the essential needs of the underserved, His vision was simple yet profound: to give, unconditionally and universally.
